Growing up, I was always insecure about my muscular thighs (built from years of running up & down a soccer field). I spent hours on the elliptical trying to shrink them due to my own insecurity & remarks from a boyfriend telling me I was “too muscular”. One thing I’ve learned subsequent to my “thinspo stage” that you don’t need to shrink yourself for the sake of pleasing others—and I don’t mean just body wise; whether that means toning down your personality, being less of this, more of that...if someone tells you you are “too much, or not enough”, chances are that person is intimidated by you and wishes to inhibit your growth. Tune out the negativity and DO YOU.

I grew up with two older brothers you could say I’m a little competitive😂 My mom tried to get me to do ballet but clearly that didn’t last long. My life was surrounded by sports from a young age. I played on several club soccer and lacrosse teams year round (even had a brief indoor track career for a hot second). I ended up getting a scholarship to play D1 lacrosse at a college in NY. It’s funny to look back because while I was there playing I hated every second of it but after I graduated college, I felt lost without lacrosse and the team atmosphere. I moved to Charlotte a few months after college and fell off the wagon a bit which is what led me to creating this account. I don’t really know why I’m sharing this😂😂 mostly just to open up to you guys a bit. Also partly because I signed up to play in a women’s lacrosse league this summer which starts tonight and I’m secretly (now openly) super pumped to pick my stick back up😬

I got a lot of people saying I looked like a young @stevecook this weekend which is like the best compliment ever 😂😂 someday I hope to inspire even one person he inspired me and I hope I’m on the right track!
If any of you want me to start putting tips and tricks about my workout regimen or dieting let me know and I’ll start pushing that type of content, whatever it takes to help whoever wants advice from and Average Joe 😂

This is a 4 year difference, but i really didn’t start a consistent workout routine til about 3 years ago(ish)!
I just want to clarify that my goal has never been to “be the skinniest” or “have the most muscle”. It’s just been to find a healthy lifestyle that i enjoy and that’s attainable while putting my health first!
Once i viewed the gym as a positive, everything changed. Once i viewed food as a positive, everything changed.
And no.. i haven’t given up my favorite foods! i still eat ice cream, pizza, etc. just not everyday! I had to teach myself to eat those things in moderation, but still allow your body its cravings or else your diet won’t be sustainable!
Food & the gym is NOT the enemy! Finding a healthy lifestyle that is attainable for YOU is whats important. Making your health & happiness a priority is what i tell everyone! It’s worth the investment & time, i promise!
Being CONSISTENT with eating whole, nutritious foods and a workout routine you enjoy will bring results. Unfortunately results don’t happen overnight, but that doesn’t mean you give up. That means you keep going until you hit your goals and then create new ones!
