"We're all so frightened by time, the way it moves on and the way things disappear. That's why we're photographers. We're preservationists by nature. We take pictures to stop time, to commit moments to eternity. Human nature made tangible." - Ben, Kodachrome 2017
I love photography. I have been taking pictures since I was 11 years old. It is how I process the world. For me, it is about preserving the moments I am in. Capturing what I see and who I am with.
When I lived in China, it was a shock. I took thousands of photos just so I could process what I was seeing. When I got back I took photos of my family so they could have good pictures to remember life by.
When I started to get into the professional world of photography, I hated it. It wasn't what I thought it was. I didn't fit in. My attitude has changed. I'm a little less arrogant. I know that no one really cares if you "fit in". As for what I will do with photography, who knows. I take lots of photos of my family that most people will never see. I do it to show love. I take pictures because I love to see when I create something beautiful. I do it because it helps me feel secure. Is that weird? One day I hope I can be happy with my life. I'm trying harder to stop feeling shame with what I am doing and just do it.
Thanks for following me and looking at what I create. It means a lot to me.
