| EXERCISE IN WINTER | During Winter things tend to slow down a bit….you find yourself needing to nap more, you decrease socialising and tend to start hibernating. Even the sun sleeps in and doesn’t wake up as early. So if life slows down then why not exercise? It’s super important to slow down your movement patterns during the cooler months. That doesn’t mean stopping exercise entirely, but perhaps swap high-intensity cardio activities for more gentle activities such as walking and yoga. This allows your adrenals to recover from the high amounts of activity that they’ve been stressed by over the warmer months. 📸@da.di.dou

Fire is the great alchemist. In the northern hemisphere, we are entering the season of fire. A season when transformation can ignite in an instant. A time when the heat burns internally and externally as an offering to life’s mysteries.
In #chinesemedicine, there are three internal fire centers in the body. The Heart. The Stomach. And the lower belly or Kidneys. These “burners” make up the organ system known as the triple burner or the San Jiao.
It’s important that the fire is stoked, tended to and also contained so that it doesn’t burn up what surrounds it. Fire is essential. It’s medicinal.
This summer, tend to your inner flame, in each center. Let the fiery inspiration of the Heart be bolstered by the will of the Kidneys and nourished by the alchemy of digestion. Turn towards the flames and follow your deepest and highest passions for the good of all beings, including yourself.

Yay #summersoltice I finally found this watch I have been trying to find for months! The Chinese characters are for the #traditionalChinesemedicine associated organs and functions. So happy to have found you! So auspicious as I work on getting licensed in bodywork. Was talking #tuina#herbs and #cupping yesterday with some instructors.

Happy Summer Solstice loves! Today marks the longest day of the year and the power of the sun during this luminous entry point is healing, revitalizing and soul inspiring! Take stock of how far you’ve come this year, and work towards finding equilibrium by balancing your masculine (sun) side and your feminine (moon) nature. A time to cultivate new dreams and bask in this brilliant light. Visual dream by @layeredvintage
My roses bloomed just in time for summer solstice! In Traditional Chinese Medicine summer is the season of the heart and is ruled by the element fire. It is seen as a time of growth and maturation as gardens burst with life and social activities are at their peak! It is a great time of year to nurture relationships and creativity. Wishing everyone a joyful summer! ☀🌷🌸🌹☀
We are watching cycles repeat. Destruction, hatred, isolation within ourselves and within our country. So much both internal and external is coming to light and we’re being called to look at matters differently and make a stand to change the things we no longer want to experience or be part of. The things happening on our world stage is despicable and terrifying. I see the horror and choose to stand in my deepest knowing that the darkest times are meant to be catalyst for major change and transformation
Things blow up entirely to be created anew
It doesn’t make what’s happening easier, my heart breaks for the unthinkable things that are happening but keep in the back of your mind as we mourn and demand change we look towards the light inside of us that will keep our front soft and open and our backs strong to continue to carry on throughout these heavy cycles
So much love ❤️

Acupuncture does not seek to find what is wrong with you. It looks for what is off balance, how to adjust that, and helps clear the way for your body to heal.
The whole picture health plan is not just a quick fix, but rather to work with what your body needs to regain that balance. 💫

My little wood child (traditional Chinese medicine) taking an afternoon nap for the first time in two weeks. The cause :: being outside. His birthday is coming up next month and for anyone who wants to get him something we want to get him a big wooden jungle gym so he can burn his energy, get strong and his little brother will be able to play on It with him. His cousin @samanthaa_0x has her birthday within the same couple days so we’re planning a dual birthday party. Ps for those of you who know sky. He strongly dislikes the happy birthday song and will run away regardless if you have cake or not. #july18th he was born on the 18th like me. ❤️❤️🌻 #traditionalchinesemedicine

DAY 620. When I hit record and began walking out to this spot, there was a huge hawk flying around those cliffs behind me, calling out a majestic screech over the river. But by the time I finished the form and turned around, that dear messenger was gone, and instead there were two turkey vultures, bringing me totally different medicine. I had to rewatch the video to be sure I was not mistaking my birds.
Sending you my most sincere Solstice blessings whether you find yourself in the Northern or the Southern Hemisphere. May you be blessed with the fullest expression of Yang Qi in the North, and the deepest of Yin Qi in the South, and may we all feel the fullness of who we are, individually and collectively.
Here in New Mexico, Sun gave us the gift us clouds today and all human and more-than-human people are taking delight in the relief from the dry and the hot.
This is Arc the Double Rainbow, a Taijiquan-based Qigong form for personal expression, radiating the essence of your being, and honoring you divinity.
No lie, I think I would have stocked these new potent Chinese formula extracts for the packaging alone. But they are also made with scrupulous quality and nothing but herbs, alcohol, and water. No fillers. Nada. I tend to dispense capsules because it’s easier to get patients to take them, but some patients want tinctures. #Griffo offers some really great blends of classical formulas, that I’m proud to carry. For single herb and some western herbal tinctures and oils, I’m carrying #benedictinehealingproducts and I’ve just begun stocking wonderful teas and raw herbal formulas for decocting at home or making healing soups by #urbanherbs. And I’ve got some new high powered 150 mg of CBD hemp balm by #charlotteswebcbd in stock, too! Along with all my patent capsules and linaments and such, it’s looking like an old fashioned apothecary around here. Not to go full hippie, but the earth gives us some damn fine medicine. Most of synthesized western medicines are based on traditional folk remedies. Chinese formulas are especially wonderful because they are a combination that is chosen to balance the effects of all the herbs as a whole, so you will receive some synergistic benefit (benefit of the combination) and it’s also blended to minimize the chance for side effects. Herbal consultations are always free ( if you want) them with your acupuncture visit, and the prescriptions themselves are affordable. I specifically choose herb brands that balance high quality with a price point that won’t hurt your wallet. #plantsheal#herbalmedicine is amazing! Make an appointment to see how good you can feel!

👉🏻 LET ME EXPLAIN 👈🏻
‼️CDC ARTICLE ‼️ Okay guys, since I continually hear about the story of the mom and baby possibly getting sick from placenta encapsulation and how placenta encapsulation is unsafe, I am going to continually explain how MY process (THE TRADITIONAL CHINESE MEDICINE METHOD) is completely safe.
There are ✌🏻TWO✌🏻methods of placenta encapsulation: ☝🏻1. The “RAW” Method (I do not use). The Raw method is where the encapsulator does NOT COOK the placenta, but simply washes it and then dehydrates it. ✌🏻2. The “TCM” (Traditional Chinese Medicine Method). 👈🏻👈🏻 The Method I use. The TCM method cleans/washes the placenta, COOKS the placenta, and THEN dehydrates the placenta.
What’s the difference?
Let’s put this in terms of chicken since a placenta is like a piece of meat. Can the chicken make you sick if it is mishandled? YES! ✅ Can you get sick from eating chicken that isn’t cooked? ABSOLUTELY! ✅
The woman in the CDC article went with an Encapsulation specialist that encapsulated her placenta using the raw method (as it states in the CDC report). This is so unsafe and I would highly recommend to NEVER consume your placenta in raw form. The placenta was not cooked and therefore, it was never hot enough to KILL any and all bacteria on it.
If a restaurant decided to serve raw chicken and the patrons of that restaurant got sick from eating raw chicken, you wouldn’t stop eating chicken. You can’t take that same complaint and report of people getting sick from a restaurant serving raw chicken, and apply it to KFC.. KFC would be like.. “B*^%H! We FRY our chicken! It’s in our name!!” Well... I feel the same way... “B^ #*H! We cook our placentas!” So, if you ARE going to encapsulate your placenta, make sure that the person you choose to do the job for you is 1. Certified 2. Uses the TCM method (cooking the placenta) 3. Is reputable and has lots of testimonies to back them up ✅👌🏻 Any questions? #placentaencapsulation#teamplacenta#traditionalchinesemedicine#natural#askmehowtogetstarted#placenta#pregnant#mommies#happymommy#testimonial#40weekspregnant#30weekspregnant#12weekspregnant#preggo#birth#babygoals

For new oilers, choosing an essential oil that contains the most effective properties can initially be confusing. What should be used to soothe achy legs? To support a stuffy nose? To help even skin tone? To uplift my mood? This picture illustrates a good place to start.
🌳Do you need support from discomfort? Start with tree oils such as Copaiba, Frankincense, or Siberian Fir.
🌹Do you need support for skin? Start with flower oils such as Geranium, Rose, or Jasmine.
🌿Do you need support when feeling under the weather? Start with herb oils such as Oregano, Melissa, or Rosemary.
🍊Do you need mood support? Citrus might be your answer! Start with Wild Orange, Grapefruit, or Bergamot.
As you experiment with essential oils, you’ll see how many options there are for each oil. For instance, Copaiba is supportive for discomfort, but is also incredible when used to ease anxious feelings. And Rose is beautiful for skin, yet is also extremely powerful for healthy immune function. So this graphic will get you started, but it is by no means the only answer.
When you are ready to add the very best essential oils to your home, I would be honored to help make that happen. This isn’t a wellness fad, it’s the real deal, and it’s here to stay and only grow. In the very near future, essential oils will not only be in every home, but in every clinic, doctor’s office, and hospital. Why? The profound results we see speak for themselves. When you get started you’ll see what I mean.
Ready to start incorporating natural solutions into your family’s home? Right now is a great time to start! DM me for more info!

Bloating can happen to the best of us, but it’s important to pinpoint the triggers.
What causes bloating? There are dozens of different sneaky reasons you might develop a bloated stomach — allergies, hormonal imbalances, thyroid dysfunction, gut troubles, etc. Here are some of the reasons you may be feeling bloated:
Fluid retention (called edema or ascites)
Food allergies or sensitivities
SIBO (Small intestinal bacterial overgrowth)
While it’s most likely nothing to worry about, bloating can be incredibly uncomfortable. Here’s what you can do to help.
1. Eat slowly
2. Sip on ginger tea
3. Take a walk
4. Drink warm water and lemon
5. Take some time to breathe and unwind
6. Get some potassium
7. Skip the salt
8. Get some diuretic foods: celery, citrus, beets, ACV
9. Drink peppermint or fennel tea
10. Try digestive enzymes
11. Pop some parsley
12. Add rosemary
13. Eat kiwi or papaya
14. Try turmeric
15. Cut thé cruciferous vegetables
The key is to pay attention to what specifically upsets your belly and causes the bloat. If it becomes a constant, you could have a food allergy or there could be a greater health concern at the root of the problem. .

Do I need to dispel dampness or replenish qi to lose weight?
Losing weight seems like a lifelong career for some women, even skinny girls seem to always feel like there’s room to reduce more. Summer is here and there are plans to go to the beach and go on boat trips. Looking at the mirror, you may want to lose a couple inches everywhere, or you may be following some celebrity diet for a week but have not seen any results?
From Chinese medicine perspective, you need to find out your body constitution as both phlegm and dampness and qi deficiency can lead to weight gain. The cause of weight gain and diet choices would be quite different so if you pick the right method, you’re off to a good start. (Some people can have multiple body constitutions as well)
