New class alert..! 👯♀️🚨
Mondays at 7.30pm... Plantar fasciitis, tight achilles, hamstrings and a general lack of mobility, are all cumulative effects of tightness in our fascia (connective tissue around muscles and internal organs) which can lead to restricted flexibility in our joints, general imbalances and even feelings of full-body fatigue.
Balancing out strenuous activity with stretch is essential for good maintenance - and to allow us to really get the most from our workouts.
That's why we're dedicating a full hour in our weekly schedule to JUST STRETCH.
Using foam rollers, body-rolling balls, hands-on adjustments from our experienced team - and even partner work, this is the perfect antidote not only to tough workouts, but also to our often sedentary screen-orientated lifestyles.
With a background in Dance Physiotherapy and a lifetime as a professional Ballet Dancer, @bridget_coulthurst knows all the secrets of maintaining flexibility, symmetry and can show you how to coax your muscles into pure relaxation.
You do not already need to be flexible to take the class, that will come with time...and a little patience.
You'll warm up gently first, then work from the ground up, stretching the feet, achilles, calves and up into the quads, hips, psoas and hamstrings. With some restorative spinal releases and rotations, you'll also work on the shoulders upper back, neck (with huge benefits to your posture). We'll introduce simple, fun ways at each session for you to see how much your flexibility and movement has changed since the start of the class - and make time for a relaxation before we finish.
Make time to JUST STRETCH once a week and accelerate the results of your training...

We introduced our newest instructor, Kristin, a while back but it’s time to learn a little more about her! In addition to her impressive gymnastics background, Kristin also holds some dazzling fitness credentials including ACSM group and personal training certifications, TRX functional and suspension training certifications, AND she’s a certified nutritionist! Plus she’s lovely with a stellar sense of humor so we’re happy to have her on our BB team! Summer may be half over, but I am committing to get running. I have hard evidence that my body likes it, so it's my mind that has to get over it. At least once a week I will run, and yesterday I had the motivation to get out and get it done!
Some fun country running stuff:
Rooster crowing ✔️
Scared a beaver ✔️
Saw a deer ✔️ I actually do the @jeffgallowayolympian#runwalkrun method, which they say is just as healthy as straight running, and I find it less daunting and more interesting.
A dancer running? That shouldn't be a question any more. There are many of us that do run, and if done mindfully and you like it (or your body does as is my case), go for it!
One of the best ways to stay motivated to workout is to come for class with a friend! 👯♀️

I know, it's only Tuesday, but celebrate every win, right?! Yard work on Saturday, yoga Sunday, aerobics yesterday, spin today, and stretched every night. Nutrition is on point as well! Staying in shape while on this dance break 🤗
Last week my goal was every meal to have protein and veggies, not so much dairy and sugar. I got better as the week progressed, but this week I just want to focus on not eating too much sugar; that's the bit that was the most difficult in this ice cream summer time.
DANCE SULPT HIIT - 60 mins - This class is a combination of clients' using their own body weight as well as light resistance in the form of light weights and various resistance bands. This combination along with high intensity interval training ultimately results in transforming females bodies to develop long lean muscles! 😍 .
Leg & Booty Burner 🔥 Try these 3 exercises for 45 seconds each with a 15 second rest in between. Aim for at least 4 rounds to really feel the burn #trainlikeadancer .
