What do you have planned this weekend? Resurrecting any of your own childhood hobbies? .
rp | fetherstonephotographyAs a child I used to love skimming stones on a river bank and as an adult nothing has changed! A great way to chill out.
“Quién quiere llegar, busca caminos; quién no quiere llegar, busca excusas.” Translation: Who wants to get there, looks for roads; Who does not want to come look for excuses.
One of my roles for a previous job I had was to organize study tours for students at the Rollins School of Public Health. It was an interesting experience trying to organize transportation and hotel rooms and itineraries for a large group of people and I was inspired by all the great work that they do to enable research and create knowledge around the impact of health and wellbeing on people and communities.
In January of 2007, little did I know that on arrival I would be hit with an acute infection in my kidneys and experience my first (sadly, not last) trip to an emergency room outside of the continental US and what felt like a foreign country.
I felt anxious because of the initial language barrier and quite honestly I wasn’t sure of the competence of the doctors. It was a long wait and I was in tremendous pain and initially I was brought to a room with a row of beds and finally asked very personal questions with other patients and their families standing around.
I didn’t have an issue with it, but can’t help but think in the US how that would be a breach of patient confidentiality to ask a bunch of personal questions in front of complete strangers, who had nothing better to do but stand there and watch.
Luckily, my fears were unfounded and I was given a shot in the bum for my pain and some heavy duty meds to kick the infection out of my system and after missing one day of the tour I was back on track and ready to go! Ironically we visited the same hospital later as part of the study tour, so I got to see it from both a theoretical and practical experience!
Had the most delicious lunch at St Leonards in Shoreditch today. I predict a Michelin star for talented chefs Andrew Clarke (Salt Yard, The Square, St John, etc.) and Jackson Boxer (Brunswick House, The Chess Club, etc.). Make sure you get down and check it out. Hint: order the monkfish ⭐️

When bags are banned, it eliminates a major source of litter. When a plastic bag ban became official in San Jose, California in 2012, the effects of banning plastic bags was significant.
Between 2012 and 2016 there was a 76 percent reduction in plastic bag litter in local creeks and rivers.
🚲 HAPPY WEEKEND 🚲 Wearing my perfectly coral coloured @paul_hewitt watch plus bracelet while roaming the streets of my city 😍 Swipe left to see these beauties closer, how well do they match my polka dot two piece? 💕..
Who of you can actually ride a bike? I see so many tourists daily zigzagging over the streets 😂🙈 I hold my heart as we say in Dutch and hope no one gets hurt. I wonder in which countries you learn how to ride a bike and which ones you don’t? ..
Here we learn to ride a bike the same as we learn to walk. Bike facilities are good yet your bike gets stolen a lot in the city 🙈 I think I’m the only one who never got her bike stolen (where is the wood to knock on 🙊) ..
Let me know what bikes you girls prefer, how you like my look and I wish you angels a great start of the weekend 😘❤️ Ps. check my Stories to vote for the upcoming weekend dish 📲 #PaulHewitt#GetAnchored
