As a suffer of chronic coldsores (averaging 15 or so a year) today after a poor night's sleep and a long flight I landed myself another nasty coldsore. So no caffeine for me, instead I had a turmeric latte instead and to help cleanse the liver. For anyone else who gets coldsores I highly recommend avoiding any caffeine, drinking plenty of water and most importantly KEEP SMILING. Trust me, I know how horrible you feel leaving the house with one of these suckers on your face, but please don't let it control you. When I was younger I had pretty terrible self esteem and when I would get coldsores this would manifest into a very unhealthy self loathing session that I am sure many of you can relate to. Back then, my remedy for them usually included spending at least an hour crying and sulking in bed then I would call up sick to work, cancel any plans and hide in my room so nobody could see how hideous I had decided I looked. What good did that do? Nothing except make me feel even more miserable. It took a long time of self development but a thought hit me one day, a thought so obvious I couldn't believe all these years I hadn't realised it sooner. That thought was simply that the people I love and those who love me, love me more than just how I look. There were no people in the street laughing and pointing at my face. My fiance didn't love me less, my friends didn't care. It was just me. I finally realised that I am the only thing making me so miserable. I am in charge of how I feel about the woman I am, and I decided that wasn't going to let a silly coldsore control my happiness. Don't get me wrong, it sucks and I still get super frustrated but I CHOOSE to get past it. Today my way of getting past another outbreak was to start my day at the gym, I then went out to breakfast and got this delicious turmeric latte, and even took a selfie. Love yourself but most importantly have compassion towards yourself, love your faults and flaws too because they are part of you. 🤗🌻

What an amazing party my taste buds are having- have u ever tried a Tumeric Latte ? 😋
It became a fashion these days, #goldenmilk or #turnericlatte. Apparently turmeric doesn’t have the same effect if you don’t heat it with an oil and add pepper. Black pepper increases turmeric absorption by 1000x. I knew about the pepper, but wasn’t sure about the oil, that is usually coconut oil. So those instant golden milk lattes powder that you’re supposed just to add the milk don’t really do the job, do they? Unless you heat it on coconut oil before? Mith or True? Any thoughts about this?

Golden juice aka Tumeric latte ✨💛
TUMERIC BENEFITS: - anti-inflammatory properties
- Strong antioxidant
Tumeric Latte recipe: * 1/2 tsp Ginger (I would recommend to add less unless you would like your latte to have a strong spice taste) * 1 1/2 Milk, I used almond milk but you can use regular milk as well
* 1/4 tsp black pepper
* 1/2 tsp cinnamon, ground * 1 tsp Tumeric * 1/2 tsp vanilla extract * Honey
* Optional- 1/2 Tbsp Coconut oil
Combine ingredients well in a pot (except for the honey). Let it simmer on the stove till it seems frothy. Then add honey till desired sweetness. Enjoy ✨🍯💛

The best part of our business is collaborating with and supporting the Sri Lankan farmers that grow our golden turmeric and other spices. The future lies in sustainable and ethical consumption, and this is where our founders’ main focus has been right from the beginning, in providing products that don’t cost the earth and that decolonise the spice trade. 🙏🏼🌱🌞🧡
Such a sweet encounter with the lady who served me today: I love a Chai Latte but the closest thing they have in Pret is a ‘Tumeric Latte’ so I asked the lady what it was like and she said because it was my first time I could have it on the house! 🐝💛 Little kind acts can make such a difference to your day! I never realised it is made with a rice/coconut milk and lots of spices so a bit different but lovely all the same ☕️🍯🥄
