My #badassladygang lovely @tashruns4evan tagged me to share a little more about myself. Having just completed the #warbytrailfest 25km Redwood Rush I'm full of #runningjoy 🏃♀️ Mountain, path or trail - trail wins hands down, and I don't mind if it's mountain trail or not, just trail. Nothing better than laying down some single track 🏃♀️ 🏃♀️ Training plan or go with the flow - must have training plan. If I don't I find that I don't run enough and just don't really know what I'm doing 😜 🏃♀️ Favorite type of run - any run is a good run, even a hard run. But my favorite run is any run with my running buddies #badassladygang and #supergrooveymen 🏃♀️ Favorite gel - no thanks, @clifbar shotblocks for me, orange flavour 🍊 🏃♀️ Favorite race - hmmmm 🤔 this is a tough one. I don't think I can give just one. #twobaystrailrun#afterglow#surfcoasttrailmarathon#warbytrailfest all awesome events. And #parkrunau but it's not a race so maybe it doesn't count. 🏃♀️ Which race would you like to relive - none of them, but I want to run them all again and again for as long as I can 🏃♀️🏃♀️💚😀 Play along if you like, or not it's no biggy 😙
Steady 17k today in the delightful Greens Bush.....part of the Two Bays track. Nice hit out by a big Peninsula Stumblers group 😊. Hard work but enjoyable, getting there very slowly👍. #runner#running#trailrunning#twobaystrailrun
The 🌞 punished me for sleeping in today....had to jump in the lake mid-🏃 for a 🏊! #hotaf

Did you know that Rise Health Group's Stuart Canavan and Nikki Wynd are running a Two Bays Trail Run Strength Training Seminar on the 16th of February?
The seminar aims to provide trail runners with information and exercises to aid in injury prevention, agility enhancement and strength development.
The session will be 1-hour long with a 15-minute discussion which will then be followed by a 45-minute practical session.
We would like to thank those who have already expressed their interest in the event. This seminar is open to the first 40 people who respond to the event. For those who have already responded 'going' or are thinking of responding 'going' please ensure that you are definitely able to attend the seminar. A waiting list will be formed for the people who respond 'going' after the seminar is full.

I miss you al year around but especially right now with the tennis on. I was at the tennis in 06, 09, 12 and 15, it feels a bit wrong to miss 18. But life's new adventures have taken me elsewhere, Melbourne I'll be back as soon as Matilda is old enough to enjoy you as much as I do
Great post Matt! 🏃🏻♂️🏃🏻♀️
This post can belong to two groups, or both groups as one.
How good has running been for your mental health?
I almost do not know where to start. Is it the rush I get after a run, a race, a training session. Or is it the ability to discover things about myself on nearly ever run. The ability to sit with the pain and show myself how much stronger I truly am than my mind allows. Learning this allows me to put this into practice when my anxiety is at its worst or my depression comes to play. Running is another form of meditation for myself. You see with running it’s just you and your thoughts, you can allow yourself to react or you can allow yourself to observe and not play that game. It takes practice but overtime this has saved me from long winded anxiety or even giving up when running.
The confidence running gives you is one of a kind, whether you are chasing a time, a goal or having fun, when you step foot over that finish line 🏁 the feeling of accomplishment is immense. Apart of you grows. For me it was the sense of not giving up. On the running track or in life!
I, like many people owe a lot to running, I follow many people through social media who run, and I love reading your journeys and I love seeing and hearing you tick off your goals.
Thank you for this platform to speak up about my mental health. As a average joe runner who is hooked on ultra marathons, running with mates and having a laugh, I’m truly grateful I’m still here to enjoy such a simple pleasure of running. 🏃♂️ Matty -
If you're going to race long hard events in hot weather you kinda need runs like today. ☀️
34 degrees and climbing by the time I finished a marathon length run today, fuelled by nothing more than a slurpee and a beer 🍺 at 25k in - @runningthebluesaway where were you, I needed to buy this one myself 😂
I was super pleased to set an even pace the whole way through. My endurance is right where I want it a week before the Two Bays 28k next week and is progressing nicely towards my goal race of the 43k Rollercoaster Run in February. 🎢
Now, where another beer and that lovely ocean! 🍺🌊

Epic finish to the running year - 5 laps of Mullum Mullum Parkrun course with my namesake running mate who has smashed out countless kms with me this year - what a great year 👊

Sydney Olympics hero and gold medallist Cathy Freeman made training on this tough beachside ramp part of her program; and in the years since many a runner has done the same! 🥇
It's a stunning backdrop for what can only be described as a painful and vomit inducing session - just how I like it! 🤢
10 repeats up this ramp, 10k in total, and I'm as happy as can be! The best fun ever!! Who's going to join me next time? 🤔
