..IG worthy🤳🏼vs Reality👁..
We see a lot of beautiful photos of places on social media, and yet they don't authentically capture the reality of what the places are actually like because we all like to show off the best photos right?
Well here is some realness for you.
We visited these beautiful hot springs once we crossed into El Salvador, but we were really saddened to see the state of the place.
If you swipe you will see the amount of trash that was in the water, pooled off to the side by the cove and there were piles of trash all over the place.
This is a lesson. Places are beautiful as long as we hold ourselves responsible for our own garbage and leave only our 👣 behind . If you liter, it doesn't just disappear. It sits there... Sometimes forever and when it happens in places like this, it makes it impossible for people to enjoy nature. Would you hop in the water with all that trash? I wouldn't, and its all because people decided that it could be their convenient dump ground.
Dear wanderers... Please pick up after yourself. There isnt a mom out in nature picking up after you. It is all of our responsibility to take care of this planet, so please... I beg you... Dont trash our beautiful planet. 🚮♻😭🙅🏻🙏🌳

Weathered another thunderstorm this afternoon (get it?) We were gifted with this #doublerainbow after it passed and Greg caught me doing my happy dance outside 🌈🌈 #vanlife#wyoming
A month has now passed with your roof above our heads. You may be quirky and not as fancy as those boxy vans but the tops of our heads have become so lovingly aquatinted with your low ceiling. We feel at home as you gently hold us in your bucket seats, cradled by the coiled steel springs of your suspension, as mile after mile whips across your windshield and rolls under your wheels. You’ve never sputtered, coughed, or choked and your speakers sing a sweet note. Oh the places we have gone, and the places we will see from the desert to the mountains to the forest to the sea.

Our #breakingpoint for moving into a van.
. . . . . . . . . .
"When I retire, I'm going to do what you are doing"
We hear it over and over.
People saving these ideas of travel and adventure for their Later Life. Friends, the only time you are guaranteed is right now.
Nates dad retired at 50, battled cancer for 3 years, and passed away at 53. That's not to say he didn't live an awesome life. He was highly influential in his community and served 25 years (and one month and one day, as he'd tell it) on the Oklahoma City Fire Department where he made a lot of people's bad days, at the least a bit more manageable, and saved many lives.
But like most people, he left major travel on the table until retirement.
This was our breaking point.
We knew that we had to make a change in our lifestyle. Going back to 'normal' wasn't feasible. We had to make a change. 2 and a half months later, we had sold most of what we owned, bought an RV, put our house up for rent and...the rest is the story of our last 2 and a half years on the road.
What will it take for you to Live your Later Life Today?
I know it’s cliche, but I feel so blessed. I get to travel the country, build a business that makes a difference, help others make sustainable choices, connect with the most amazing people, see beautiful views every day, and live my dreams! And I did it all myself. My savings, my sweat, my tears, my determination. From living on government welfare as a kid to running a booming business AND branching out as an entrepreneur into other fields I’m passionate about. There are people who just sit on the couch and let their life waste away, day after day, getting grumpy + bitter, instead of finding and pursuing their passion. That’s soooo sad! Don’t look at people on social media and be envious of their life and their passion - realize that you make multiple decisions every day that impact the rest of your life. That’s multiple chances a day to CHANGE your life. One of my favorite quotes ever, and I know I just posted it lol, is “Dreams don’t work unless you do”. It’s so true! And to all you amazing people who are out there hustling hard all day, every day, I see you, I support you, you rock! Don’t let the naysayers get you down, cuz they’re just jealous they don’t have what you do 😉

Take me back to that desert heat.
Where the stars filled the entire sky with texture.
When the embers flew all night.
And the fire wouldn't die.
I write this while sitting in a thick soup of hot humidity out on the east coast. When you travel around, your life can feel very different depending on the environment you're in and the people you are with. Where you were a few months ago can seem like years ago. A different world.
Have you travelled between places that feel worlds apart? I'd love to hear it!

Caution wild family crossing! Now this is our kind of traffic jam 👌
It does not matter how slowly you go as long as you do not stop - we are loving our lemon scented gum bench top, every job I complete on our tiny home really makes me feel incredibly happy!!! Our visulisations and dreams are now taking shape in the 3D, paint job next week and solar install the week after :) all taking shape !
5k! I must be doing something right... Lol! Much love to all my followers, and fellow vanlifers out there! Wishing you all fair winds and following seas no matter where your next adventure takes you! ☠️🏴
Van lobster = just as delicious as restaurant lobster, waaay cheaper, but a lot more work! We used the pliers in our tool chest to crack the shell 😂😂😂 main challenge was trying not to spray lobster juice all over the van. We were successful...mostly 😶😶😶

No body told us about the Brine flies...
The Great Salt Lake was gorgeous, but we didn’t get the chance to float in it like we wanted to ☹️ the Brine flys during this time of year swarm the coastline and it’s pretty impossible to bare them to even get near this water, which has a thick layer of flys on the top of it... so that was eventful considering we didn’t know until we were right up on them 😐
Nevertheless, we enjoyed our day at Antelope Island state park with their free roaming bison, antelope & a plethora of bird species.
Everything outside of the Salt Lake was beautiful too, like #devilsslide & the rivers that kept playing tag with the highway 🛣 .
Hi! It's Ania. With Lucas we are trippin in the old fashioned Dodge van from the eighties 🚗😎 currently in US, trying to reach South America! 🌍
While we are not busy travelling or running errands (who lives in the van knows how much there is to do, always!), Lucas relaxes reading comics and me - trying new recipes 🍴
The idea is satisfy the taste of the vegetarian and the meatlover, to have diverse dishes, that usually are inspired by our two-years-trip qnd countries we've visited, that are easy enough to be prepared in the van and out of products that do not need refrigeration (fridge consums looot of electricity and our electrical system in the van does not work that great), last but not least, are tasty and healthy! 😋
Bonne appétit! 😋

WHAT IS THE BEST THING ABOUT VANLIFE? Here’s the back view of our pretty amazing home. I love everything about Vanlife- our cosy bed, new found freedom and ability to go wherever we like but the best thing about all of this is sharing my adventure with Seb. There isn’t anyone I’d rather share this journey with and I simply can’t wait to see where the road takes us together.
