Fueled on a chunk of cronut and a hard boiled egg, I dragged myself out for a run this morning. I’ve been working a lot and prioritizing fun times with my kids and family so my morning workouts have turned into morning work time and my healthy approach to nutrition have slid a bit.
As someone with chronic back pain, I’m lucky to have a natural alert (back pain) to let me know when I need to take better care of myself!
Lately I’ve been having fun and building some amazing new parts of my business but I’ve been feeling sluggish, tired and unmotivated.
Believe it or not, the cronut and egg were part of me eating better! I tend to skip breakfast and get anxious about sugars and treats and calories when I’m not prioritizing my health. So grabbing that chunk of donut, making sure I’m eating consistently and fitting in workouts often is how I roll when I want to feel energized, healthy and pain free.
Getting healthy isn’t always about losing weight, often it’s about feeling awesome! Pain free and full of energy is the goal - ready, GO! #goalweightstrongaf .

After a long and fun day in the raw and authentic nature of Morocco, I’m taking a moment to appreciate this evening view🙏. A totally different energy. I don’t spend many evenings on rooftop restaurants, but always enjoy it when I do. It often happens that customers ask me to come with them and share food in the magic or say goodbye when it’s the last day. Looking at the peaceful surroundings makes me feel calm inside. There’s something about the evening sky and the light which makes me feel closer to the whole Universe. Sometimes I wonder if those who are no longer with us can see us? Or are we all just dust in the sky when we leave the earth? Earlier today a customer shared with me that his father passed away recently. He collapsed suddenly on the bathroom floor and never came back to life. Gone too soon. I felt sad listening to the story. Too loose someone we love is the biggest pain in life. I’ve lost too many family members myself, way too soon. I’ve lost people I’ve loved with all of my heart. Gone. And sometimes I wonder if they ever see me and those I’ve lost who are alive, do they ever think of me? Our time on earth is short. It flies fast. Months pass by and we wonder where did time go? And what did we actually focus on? Did we hold hands with the ones we loved or did we dedicate more time on dead things like iPads and iPhone? Were we present enough with our loved ones or always busy on the phone? Did we love enough? Did we make those phone calls? There is always time to change and make things happen. We have the choice to live a life with love, harmony and peace. It’s never too late to change. It’s never too late to apologize. It’s never too late to make it happen. It’s never too late to make that phone call. It’s never too late to talk to the ones you miss. It’s never too late to say I love you. Whatever you want to change or whatever your dream is, don’t wait because now is the time. Tomorrow might never come 🙏
So what do you eat when you are on holiday? Are you one of those people who completely lets go or do u stick to a strict diet even more while u are away? I have to admit, I have been in both camps. I've definitely got a lot more self discipline these days. However, I do believe you are causing more stress in your body by constantly restricting yourself while trying to relax at the same time so my best advice is - stick to the very best local cuisine you can find. Since we spent 10 days by the Adriatic Sea, I chose Mediterranean diet as my base. There was such an abundance of good quality sea food and fresh fruits and veg, that i got absolutely hooked on grilled calamari and salads. Mediterranean diet has a lot of research to back up its benefits. Those are: -Lower incidence of heart disease.
-Lower incidence of cancer.
– Lower incidence of diabetes.
– higher longevity.
My skin and hair felt absolutely amazing! So I can testify, the effects are almost immediate. So next time ur by the sea, try introducing some sea food and lots of fresh veg and olive oil into your daily routine. The results are truly astonishing! •300ml de molho de tomate caseiro (cozinhar o tomate com ervas a gosto e bater no processador)
• 1 xícara de biomassa de banana verde • 300g de cogumelos paris laminados • 300g de cogumelos shitake laminados • 150g de palmito pupunha fresco picado e previamente cozido por 10 minutos
• 1 cebola média picada em cubinhos
• 3 colheres de sopa de cúrcuma em pó • 1 colher de chá de pimenta preta moída • 5 dentes de alho picados • 4 colheres de sopa de azeite • 4 pitadas de sal marinho • suco de 1/2 limão
Modo de preparo:
No liquidificador bata a biomassa com o tomate até que fique homogêneo. Em uma panela média, refogue a cebola e o alho no azeite. Acrescente o palmito e cozinhe por dez minutos. Adicione os cogumelos e cozinhe por mais cinco minutos.
Acrescente o molho de tomate e deixe ferver. Tempere a gosto com sal e o limão. Finalize adicionando a cúrcuma e a pimenta.

When life recently gave me granola, (read: when I made an obscene amount of granola) I decided to turn it into flour and make cookies. Because while most agree that granola is great, we can all agree that cookies are better 😏
