New week, new goals 🏃🏼♀️ #raceday is this Sunday and for my first half marathon, I’m realizing this week is key to take it a bit easy on your body🙏🏻I’ll still run a bit today and tomorrow, but the rest of the week entails yoga, core work and lots of walking ❤️Any other tips from fellow #halfmarathoner runners would be greatly appreciated!
oh, the struggle between quality time and quantity time. my love language is quality time (find yours out!), but i only recently started considering what that means on my mat. chaturanga is THE pose to spend quality, not quantity, time in. if you’ve ever willed your way through vinyasas just to satisfy your ego in a class full of people, you know what i mean 😂 (hi, guilty 🙋🏻♀️) .
as you move through your practice and get tired, the quality of focus and energy you can give to such a challenging posture can fade. and that’s totally okay. actually it’s AMAZING to have that communication within your own body. drop your knees, skip the vinyasa, or find quality breath in child’s pose. as i always say in class, no one is counting your vinyasas 🙃

😄 ¡mi split está regresando!
No les había contado. Hace como 2 meses tuve una lesión del lado derecho... Me forcé mucho en una clase de estiramientos y aparte estar agachada por mucho tiempo en posición para deshierbar la Tierra... 🌱 puff me terminó de lesionar.
Podía hacer split del lado izquierdo (el de la foto). El derecho me dolía horrible. Eso pasa cuando no escuchamos nuestro cuerpo y lo forzamos para llegar a un objetivo antes de tiempo. El objetivo: Una figura de pole que se llama spatchcock (parecida a kurmasana pero en la barra). Sé que en su momento llegará sin dolor... y sé que tampoco está tan lejos.
Por ahora con reposo, yoga, cuidado, masajes y fisioterapia.. me siento muchísimo mejor! 😁

Failures can be a learning mechanism, and it can also be a success. We are going to fail, we are going to lose, and we are going to make mistakes. It's not a bad thing, we all do that. But the bad thing is not recognising our mistakes and failures, because if you don't recognise you can't learn from them. Admit it, deal with it, learn from it and ultimately succeed from it. It’s your choice. To be positive and free or to be imprisoned by your own negativity. To live in the past or to be hopeful about the present. Don't let the self doubt overcome you. It chips away at your ego and causes you to doubt your abilities, and your self worth. Don't let this negativity overtake you and ask "Am I good enough? Am I worthy?” This self-doubt is really just an additional setback compounded on top of the setback your already facing.
It's unfortunate that sometimes things don’t work out, what’s even worse is being stuck in a victim mentality that prevents us from moving forward. Allow yourself to feel the pain, so you can grow beyond it. There's no reason to be ashamed of. It's sign of human strength. And everyone goes through this kind of phase. Accept the reality. To fight against the past will merely waste your time and energy. Remind yourself that it's temporary. After every sunset there's a sunrise. Just as it appears that the sun is going down on you, realise that this a momentary perspective. Things are not over. These are the opportunities to evolve your perspective and spirit. There's no dead ends in this universe. It is a universe of eternal growth, expansion and unlimitedness. You will blossom again. Your sense of godliness and power always exists. You didn't come into this life to give up that power, its inherent and part of you. You have all the ability within you. You don't have to create it, it already exist. Allow the shining of your light that you were born to shine ! 🔱👁🔱 #harharmahadev
I’ve had my fair share of run-ins with Mother Nature. Poison ivy (all the time), bug bites, scratches from climbing rocks, bruises from falling off stuff I shouldn’t be handstanding on🤷🏻♀️.. but tonight was my first run in with bees. I stepped on a nest in the ground and well, you can figure out the rest. Nature is beautiful and here for us to enjoy but we should never forget the she was here first and should be honored at all times. One of the surest ways to humble yourself is to go up against a true force of nature. My run in tonight was just enough of a reminder to tread lightly and with respect.🙏🏻 .
