🗣 @lightfulyogini Stay on your toes!! F is for foundation. It’s also for feet. And maybe floating. There’s also a really good swear word that starts with F if you try this and you get a foot cramp. 😂 turns out it’s just a really good letter all around! .
Seriously though, foot strength and mobility is very important in yoga, not to mention our day to day life. If you’ve ever had a foot massage you will feel how much tension we carry in our feet that connects directly to tension in the rest of our body. Don’t forget your feet. There’s a reason Yoga Teachers talk about the feet quite a bit! At least I hope they do -I know I do!

I am one of my favorite people because I love my crazy lifestyle and my hard discipline. 🙏I wasn’t always such a fan of myself until I started to value self care and self love roughly 8 years ago when I decided to adopt to a #Vegan lifestyle and realized its healing ☘️powers and pursued it to become a certified Plant based health expert. ☘️Then, #Yoga happened just around the time I graduated from Beauty School as a Cosmetologist and moved to a wonderful neighborhood that had a beautiful studio across the street called @studiorincon and the powerful combination of all three pretty much saved my life in ways I cannot imagine. 🍇💋🙏The world seems so much more magical and beautiful when you feel so much love for yourself and your loved ones and the soul that you are and the gratitude for the life that you have been bestowed with.
It’s takes while, But you find your authentic self eventually. .

Lost in form! Its so easy to get lured into the world of sparkling and glimmering lights, jewels, riches and sensations. The world of shape and form, where it matters more what your practice looks like rather than how much you are growing and expanding through it. When I'm not posing in front of a camera my practice can look rather underwhelming. But there is plenty going on on subtler levels. I encourage you to have a practice that looks boring if it is a practice that moves your entirety into the farthest realms of its awareness, and let go of the idea that a pose has to look a certain way.
Always learning, always growing. The lessons life has to show me are not always welcome, or accepted. My body protests, feelings of anxiety and stress, affecting my organs, digestive system. Allowing myself to truly feel in order to let go. This too shall pass

Acá estoy, viva y presente. 😌 Tratando de encontrar ese equilibrio armonioso y perfecto entre cuerpo, mente, espíritu. 🧘🏻♀️🌀Entre asanas y mates voy abriéndome paso en una mañanita de Lunes. ☀️Tomándome el tiempo para sintonizar con el exterior. 🌎 Me cuesta (prácticamente no lo hago) subirme al mat sin haber limpiado el ambiente, 🤷🏻♀️ coloco la música y mientras voy barriendo, mi mente se va ajustando con lo que tengo pendiente para hacer durante el día, 🤔mientras voy ordenando la casa, mi propia cabeza saca todo residuo y pensamiento nocivo que quedó dando vueltas por ahí, hasta quedar serena, 😊 con la mente en blanco y dispuesta a la práctica, es casi una meditación en movimiento. 😄 Luego empiezo mi liturgia, mis sahumos y velitas dedicados a mi amado Krishna,🧡 mantrando y agradeciendo, haciendo reverencias, voy creando este espacio lleno de fé, amor y energía divina.📿🙏🏼✨ Lo que se supone era una práctica sencilla de 50 minutos terminan siendo 90 de entrega total a mi ser. 🙌🏼 Esto no pasa tan a menudo como quisiera, pero cuando logro ajustar mis tiempos, este se convierte en mi verdadero Sadhana. 💗🕉✨ Y ustedes? I have mixed feelings about sharing a picture like this because so often they come off as showy but I think being vulnerable is a good thing and my only intention is to be honest and hopefully relate to someone. This is not a picture of a mom who got her abs back 8 weeks after child birth. These pictures are exactly 2 years apart. I ended up gaining a total of 55 lbs and never once did that number intimidate me or define me. I had no postpartum goal weight or goal picture that I wanted to achieve. I simply knew that I wanted to be healthy for my son. Exercise isn’t a chore or a punishment for me. It’s something our little family loves. It’s 15 minutes of chasing a ball here, 15 minutes of yoga there, a 30 minute walk around the neighborhood or doing squats while rocking out to the Lion King. It all adds up. Drink a lot of water. Eat well but don’t deprive yourself (literally you will go crazy). The postpartum journey is different for everyone, but please do not let anything rob you of thinking you are anything less than a freaking warrior. Our bodies are all different, all beautiful, and should be celebrated no matter the path you are on.
Tomorrow is Day 8 of #NamaStayForeverYoung with your favorite inversion!!! It will be 6 years this July since I started yoga and it was only last Aug 2017 that I finally understood the mechanism of a handstand. Back then I admit I was alllllll about the party tricks and athleticism. I didn't care for breath, meditation, and omg I thought savasana was THE. LITERAL. WORST. *gasp* I KNOW. I WAS WRONG. 😭
It wasn't until I started my 200YTT that I was put in my place and humbled and in awe of how much MORE yoga has to offer. Yes social media (IG, FB, YouTube) serves as a great tool and resource for inspiration and information but I cannot emphasize enough how much you can also absorb from taking class at a studio or participating in a retreat or attending workshops. The connection and energy is electric and addictive. Yoga is a self practice but also a cOMmunity. There's benefits to having both present to balance out your practice. No absolutes on what is better.
Ok long story of my rambling...
It sometimes takes a village plus your determination and dedication to have a stronger well-rounded practice.

🗣 @melissa.moffet In this picture I see years of hard work first as a dancer, and then as a yoga practitioner. I see my 13 year old self starting ballet and falling in love with the art. I see myself watching YouTube after YouTube video, studying the technique, stretching at home, and working so hard to catch up. I remember looking at myself in the studio mirror and never being satisfied with how I looked in a leotard and tights. I remember comparisons. But then I remember finding yoga, and though yoga learning to love my body. Learning to appreciate how it felt to dance and move, and then loving how it looked in turn.
So in this photo I see the merging of my passions, my hard work and dedication, and the slow appreciation of my body.

Hi friends! Tomorrow’s pose for our challenge is pincha 🤗
Pincha was one of the first yoga poses I saw on Instagram, and was also one of the hardest for me to get initially. I could do a handstand and headstand, but something about balancing on my forearms made it extra difficult for me. My shoulders/upper back have never been super strong, which is why I had a lot of trouble at the beginning.
But!! There is the wonderful dolphin pose to help you out if you are still working up to full pincha. It’s just like downward facing dog, except on your forearms. It burns the hell out of your shoulders, but is exactly the prep pose that you need to be doing if pincha is a goal for you. Try holding here for 5 long breaths, coming to child’s pose for a rest, and repeating a few times! You’ll know what I mean by burn 😆🔥
